After some months of intimidating silence and lazyness we are back with the promised new release! Chun Lee's netaudio debut on CTFL, a 5 track EP, has been made using exclusively open source software such as pure:dyne, a linux distribution for media artists and pure data,a real-time graphical programming environment for audio, video, and graphical processing.
Now combine this with his classical background and you will have a geeky idm orchestration with a lot of low fi computer music influence.
Chun Lee is a musician/composer from Taipei, Taiwan who now lives and works in London. Initially trained as a classical violinist, he became increasingly fascinated by the technological and experimental aspect of contemporary music.
He now focuses his compositional practice on algorithmic/generative music, using software tools such as Pure data. In addition to his compositional practice, he is also working towards his doctoral degree in Electronic Arts at Middlesex University. He has presented his works in both the UK and Europe and has also worked in collaboration with other digital arts practitioners from various disciplines.
He is also an active member of Goto10 and Openlab - two international collaborations of digital artists. Chun has appeared in a number of places - from academic conferences and workshops to festivals, local meetings/presentations, gigs and squat parties.
